Eighty years of winemaking history, but more than two centuries of entrepreneurial presence. Santa Margherita was born in 1935 at the behest of count Gaetano Marzotto that, then, led the textile group vicentino started from the beginning of 800 grandfather Luigi. A precise determination: be able to create an innovative agricultural pole broke with traditional schemes of the time and that it represented a factor of modernity and development. A vision in line with the verve of count Gaetano: a real tycoon who could melt business objectives with social needs. Around the farm Santa Margherita – as well as establishments Marzotto Valdagno – in fact were the first residential quarters for employees, cultural and recreational facilities. A true sensitivity, facade not, that continued in the difficult years of World War II and the immediate post-war period.
A significant entrepreneurial figure in the Italian economic history: capable like few others to read the trend of world economy (It was always him to invent the first chains suggesting a future country tourism); to guide public choices, but also to promote a more widespread earning its full title of “business humanist”.
The count Gaetano had eight children and now his grandson, that bears his name, the firstborn son Vittorio Emanuele, presiding at Santa Margherita.
